Format and Minutes of a group Micro-Study:

  1. Get some food and drinks and begin to settle down
  2. P.I.S.S. Test
    1. P = Physical.  “How are you doing physically?”  (health, fitness, dieting, goals, issues, events… etc)
    2. I = Internal.  “How are you doing mentally, emotionally?”
    3. S = Spiritual.  “How are you doing in your walk with Christ?” 
    4. S = Self. “How are you doing overall?”
  3. Open with Prayer
  4. Read 5 to 8 verses before and after the primary verse of study for better context
  5. Discuss what is going on in the verses, in their context
  6. Read primary verse of study, 3 times.
  7. Identify Key Words and discuss what they exactly mean (“G.C.3.”)
    1. Greek/Hebrew word research with context applied for proper definition
    2. Cross-reference words for proper expanded understanding by understanding how the same word was used throughout scripture.
    3. Consider the Cultural significance and cultural value of the word or idea encapsulated in the word.
    4. Consider the Historical context of the word in the context of that regions events, audience, and author.
  8. Discuss meanings and contexts.
  9. Read 5 to 8 verses before and after including the primary verse and summarize what is revealed.
  10. Close in Prayer
  11. Discuss next weeks goals and plans.
